“Engineer Parkar, who was primarily responsible in respect of the technical aspects of the works was given promotion and VRS by the BJP government and are now only questioning me in the case. The government may try to frame me in the case”, Churchill said.
Reminding that the role of a PWD Minister is only to accord approvals, leaving the job of looking into the technicalities to the department engineers, Churchill said “in the instant case, they are probing a Minister without questioning the finance officials and the engineers”.
He demanded to know why the Finance Ministry had cleared funds for the works if there were discrepancies.
