MARGAO: At the Rachol gram sabha, a resolution was passed asking the State government to transfer the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) to all the tribal dominated panchayats to take up development work directly at panchayat level of the respective departments. The meeting also resolved to write to the Director of Panchayat (DoP) and government to release the match grants, grants for weaker panchayats to meet staff salary and administration expenditures.
It was also resolved to revise the budget and revise the fees for various taxes and other NOCs that the panchayat issues.
The gram sabha resolved to ask DoP to increase the salary/ allowances of panchayats members and release the same on time as well for the provision of additional staff in (LDC group) as well as peons to the Rachol panchayat with immediate effect to improve their administration and door-to-door delivery services.
It was further resolved to ask the concerned authorities to use the Tribal Funds for the construction work of community cum administrative building by the PWD, and expedite the project.
There was another meeting after the gram sabha to explain the draft Agriculture policy, following which suggestions were given by local farmers and tenants association.
