Rahul claims Goa tape on Rafale ‘authentic’

NEW DELHI: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday tried to revive a controversy over Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane’s claim in an audio tape that Goa CM Manohar Parrikar having “explosive Rafale secrets.”
Though Rane dubbed the tape as doctored, asserting that Parrikar never made any reference to Rafale or any documents, Rahul tweeted that the tape is obviously “authentic” since no FIR nor any inquiry ordered nor action taken against minister Rane even after 30 days of the tape surfacing. “It’s obvious that the tapes are authentic & that Goa CM, Parrikar, is in possession of explosive RAFALE secrets, that give him power over the PM,” Rahul added.
He chose to create a hype on the issue on the basis of the Congress leaders in Goa briefing him that no criminal investigation was launched as demanded by Rane.
KARNATAKA EPISODES: In another tweet, Rahul condemned Union Minister of State for Skill development Anant Kumar Hegde stating at a public event in Karnataka that “if a Hindu girl is touched by a hand, then that hand should not exist.”
Hegde had gone on to make a distateful remark against Karnataka Congress President Dinesh Gundu Rao’s wife Tabu, a Muslim.
“This man is an embarrassment to every Indian. He is unfit to be a union minister and deserves to be sacked,” Rahul said.
In a repartee to him, BJP leader and Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar hit back that Rahul should first discipline his own Congress leader Siddaramaiah, a former Karnataka CM, for misbehaving, intimidating and inappropriately touching clothes of a woman at a public meeting in Mysuru.
What action Rahul proposes against Siddaramaiah whose shocking misconduct and snatching mike from the woman that is all there on the TV channels, Javadekar asked.
