PANJIM: Ahead of the crucial Assembly election results, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday held a high level meeting with Goa leaders to discuss the strategies for the post election scenario.
The meeting was attended by Congress leaders K C Venugopal, P Chidambaram, Digambar Kamat and GPCC President Girish Chodankar.
Goa Desk In-Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao tweeted informing about the meeting. “Rahul Gandhi reviewed political situation in Goa and discussed strategies for post election scenario with us,” Rao tweeted.
It may be noted that Congress leader Micheal Lobo visited Delhi on Friday and met Venugopal to discuss the post result strategy for Congress. Lobo has already said that party-led Goa Forward Party alliance will win with complete majority and stake claim for the government formation by 5 pm on March 10.
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat tweeted saying “When Goa wins India wins”.
He said that a strategy meeting with Rahul Gandhi was held. “Congress is all set to win people’s mandate and form friendly government,” he tweeted.
While Congress has contested on 37 seats, it alliance partner GFP has three candidates in fray.
