PANJIM: Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit Goa on March 8 to address party booth workers ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The booth committee members’ convention will be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, Bambolim.
“Our INC National President Rahul Gandhi to address Goa booth committee members convention ‘Jeet Ke aur’ (towards victory), on March 8 at 5.30 pm,” Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar announced on Saturday.
Chodankar said that Rahul Gandhi visit will give much boost to the party workers to ensure Congress victory during upcoming by-elections in Shiroda and Mandrem and for the Lok Sabha polls.
Informing that the Congress would contest both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa, Chodankar said that the party has begun preparing for the meeting which will have the participation of several thousand booth committee workers from all the 40 Assembly Constituencies.
Gandhi had on January 31 visited ailing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at State Assembly complex, Porvorim.
