PANJIM: Congress President Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Goa on Friday to address the convention of booth level workers, signalling the launch of the election campaign in Goa.
At the convention, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) is set to blow the bugle for the election campaign to the Lok Sabha as well as for the by-polls to the three Assembly constituencies – Mapusa, Mandrem and Shiroda.
According to GPCC President Girish Chodankar, around 12,000 both level workers and leaders from across Goa would be present for the ‘Jeet Ki Ore’ booth level workers convention which would be addressed by Rahul Gandhi in the evening at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee indoor stadium, Bambolim.
Chodankar said, “Rahulji will be meeting MLAs; thereafter he will also be meeting various NGO representatives; the mining affected; those affected due to coal (pollution) and fishermen association regarding CRZ issues. He will also have a meeting with the representatives of Goencho Avaaz.” Gandhi will be leaving for Karnataka on Saturday.
