MARGAO: Inauguration of the asphalting of the parking lot at Raia evoked protest by the village sarpanch as he questioned south Goa MP Francisco Sardinha for ignoring the local Panchayat body.
The project, which was taken up under the MPLAD scheme of theSouth Goa MP, evoked protest from the village Sarpanch for not taking the panchayat body into confidence.
Soon after the MP unveiled the plaque, the Sarpanch Xavier Fernandes and some residents questioned the MP why the village panchayat was not taken into confidence while inaugurating the project. The Sarpanch later told the media that he drew attention of the MP and wondered why the local body was ignored and neglected at the time of inauguration.
