SIOLIM: In a joint raid conducted by the officials from Captain of Ports and Mines and Geology department, around 232 cubic meters of sand and five canoes used for illegal sand extraction at Odxel, Siolim was seized on early Wednesday morning.
The mines department seized the sand while the five canoes were attached by Captain of Ports.
Mines Department officials stated that the raid was conducted on Wednesday morning at 6.00 am by the different departments. The area where the sand was being illegally extracted from belongs to the Fisheries department.
