PANJIM: On recommendation of Goa Public Service Commission, the Government has appointed Nitin V Raiker of Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services to the post of Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services (Gazetted Group ‘A’) as per the order issued by the Home Department.
He joined the Directorate of Fire Service in 1991 as Assistant Station Fire Officer and was promoted to the post of Station Fire Officer in 1998 and further promoted to the post of Assistant Divisional Officer in 2010. During the period he has served at various Fire Stations.
He is the recipient of Gold Medal from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for the Divisional Officer’s Course. Raiker is the only person from the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services to pass the Membership Examination, MI Fire E (UK).
from the International Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) London, an approved qualification for the post of Deputy Director and above in State Fire Services as recommended by the Department of Human Resources & Development, Government of India.
He has also undergone International Courses for continuous professional development such as Training of Trainers, Urban Search & Rescue Operation, Medical First Responder from the Fire Service College, London (UK) in the year 2011. He is the Recipient of Chief Minister’s Fire Services Gold Medal for Meritorious services in the year 2008.
