VASCO: Gold ornaments and cash worth nearly Rs 3 lakh were stolen from a female passenger traveling by the Goa Express train between Margao and Savordem on Sunday evening.
According to Vasco Railway Police, the incident took place as Parvati alias Parubai Dasmone of Davarli was traveling along with her family from Margao to Miraj.
On reaching Savordem at around 5.30 pm, Dasmone realized that her bag containing a necklace, a mangalsutra with pearls, two bracelets and a pair of earnings, valued at about Rs 2.98 lakh and cash of Rs 600, was missing.
She reported the matter to the Railway Police. PSI Shareef Jacques of Vasco Railway Police is investigating the case. however, there is no sign of the stolen articles and also the passenger does not know exactly when the articles were stolen from her possession.
