VELSAO: In order to protest coal spillage on tracks, the Villagers Action Committee Against Double Tracking (VACAD) on Friday gifted coal to the staff of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).
VACAD president Orville Dourado Rodrigues, while gifting the coal to RVNL officer said, “This is a gift from our village to you. Please accept this and also show this to your senior officers as they are sitting in AC offices and must be unaware about the ground reality as to how much we are suffering due to coal dust pollution in our village.”
Rodrigues’ act left the RVNL officials red-faced and before the matter would become worse, Vasco DySP Raju Raut Desai intervened and handled the situation.
