Railway police intensifies vigil at Margao Station

MARGAO: With rise in the number of trains arriving daily at the Margao railway station, Konkan railway police have put in place adequate security measures and posted armed policemen at important points in the railway station, including at the entrance, to prevent cases of thefts and other untoward incidents.

PI Sachin  B Panalkar of  Konkan railway police station  said that daily about 50 passengers trains and goods trains proceeding to different destinations, arrive  at the Margao railway station and Konkan railway police staff are posted in three shifts for patrolling  and security measures. 

In three shifts, a total number of 12 police personnel, including armed police and lady police constables, are posted at various points.

Police staff is posted for patrolling inside the Margao railway station as well as near the railway over bridge and proper measures are being taken to monitor the movement of passengers. 

Six platforms are in operation at the Margao railway station where policemen, including armed constables, are positioned.
