Rain and wind to continue in State

PANJIM: With the March to June cyclonic period of the southwest monsoon coming towards an end, heavy stormy showers which had lashed the State a couple of days back have slowed down.

The pattern will resume in October-November.
Although Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in the western coast in the next 24 hours, the Director of Goa Centre of IMD V K Mini said, “As per the observation from the Goa observatory of IMD, the rainfall will be normal but strong winds will continue.”
Speaking further she said, “Winds will be mainly south westerly reaching 60 kmph in gusts. The sea will be rough with south-westerly waves, therefore we advice fishermen not to go out to sea for the next
24 hours.”
