VASCO: People throng to the market places in Vasco, despite the rains, as the Ganesh Chaturthi festival comes closer. Women were seen shopping fruits, matoli items, utensils, puja equipment, clothes, decors and even firecrackers.
The celebration mood prevails at Port town as much awaited Ganesh Chaturthi kick starts on Friday.
One of the buyers, Pournima Mehendale, said that last year there was low key Chaturthi celebration due to the spike in the COVID cases. “But this year we are happy that we can celebrate like before. I pray to god that this COVID-19 problem is solved permanently,” said Mehendale.
