After rains washed out the ODI at Fatorda, Diwali celebrations too are under rain threat with State Met Department predicting showers for next three days.
The post monsoon showers which hit the State today afternoon after sunny weather are likely to continue for few more days due to the low pressure belt in Bay of Bengal. The Capital City today witnessed heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms.
Indian Meteorological Observatory Goa in-charge K V Singh confirmed that the south-west monsoons have already withdrawn from Goa coast.
Singh said that due to low pressure belt in Bay of Bengal and upper air circulation off Karnataka coast, the State might witness the showers.
“Many parts of the State are likely to witness moderate to heavy showers,” he predicted.
The Met Department said that North East Monsoon has already begun in the country and it’s raining in the States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
The South-West monsoon which hit Goa in June, this year remained till October 29, with department recording 132 inches or rainfall for the season (June-September).
