MARGAO: It seems really strange as to how newly hot-mixed roads could be washed off with the rains in Salcete and only speaks volumes of the quality of material used. Well, the PWD has an arduous task of ahead of repairing the main and interior roads here which were washed away with the incessant downpour.
Motorists and pedestrians now have a harrowing time with the area now turning into a nightmare for travellers.
Sources reveal that three scooterists suffered minor damages as they fell on the damaged road near the Gogol traffic circle.
Ulhas Kerker, a senior citizen urged the PWD to take cognizance of these damaged roads and immediately repair them immediatly. He alleged that the condition of roads in Gogol, Ramnagri, Rawanfond Sonsodo area, Borda, Arlem, near KTC bus stand etc have deteriorated.
Roads at Davorlim, near the Mungul bridge and even the highway have been washed away putting commuters to immense hardships.
