PANJIM: The Anjuna police arrested a 28-year-old man from Rajasthan for allegedly possessing drugs worth Rs 1 lakh.
According to the police, the Anjuna police based on reliable information laid a trap on information of a person carrying a narcotic substance and conducted a raid near Splash Down Water Park and intercepted accused DevendranathGosavi, a resident of CancaBandh, Bardez, and a native of Rajasthan.
During the raid, the police attached ganja worth Rs 50,000 and charas worth Rs 50,000 from the possession of the accused and also attached a motorcycle.
A case has been registered against Gosaviunder section 22 (b) (ii) (A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS Act) 1985.
The raiding team was headed by Anjuna PI Prashal P N Dessai, PSI Ashish Porob and constables Mahendra Mandrekar, Rupesh Azgaonkar, Adarsh Nagekar and Amir Fadte under the supervision of Mapusa SDPO Jivba G Dalvi and overall supervision of SP (North) Nidhin Valsan, IPS.
