Rajbagh resident succumbs to COVID

CANACONA: A Rajbagh resident succumbed to COVID-19 infection while six others tested positive for the virus on Thursday in Canacona.

The confirmed cases in the taluka have risen to 79.

Health Officer of Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) Dr Vandana Desai on Thursday confirmed the death of a male resident from Rajbagh and added that this is the second COVID death.

“In all, 46 persons, who recovered from the infection, have been discharged. There are 31 active cases till date,” she said.

Dr Desai informed that the person, who succumbed to the disease, was the relative of the person, who had tested positive for COVID earlier.

“He was admitted to COVID Care Centre with mild symptoms on Wednesday and died after having difficulties in respiration on Thursday,” Dr Desai added.

“Of the six patients who tested positive, four are related to the person who died on Thursday while two others are from a family in Ponsulem,” she added.
