VASCO: The BJP workers under the banner of “Mormugao Supports CAA” will organise a rally on February 2 in support of Citizenship Amendment Act. The rally will start at 3 pm from Vasco Kadamba Bus and calumniate at Mormugao Municipal building.
This was announced by former Speaker Rajendra Arlekar at a press conference on Wednesday morning.
Arlekar informed that under the banner of “Mormugao Supports CAA”, they will organise a mega rally. He said that he is expecting the participation of around 8000 people in the rally.
“This mega rally will create awareness among people and via this, right message regarding CAA will reach the people,” Arlekar said.
He claimed that those opposing CAA do so without a concrete reason. “Most of the people opposing this Act lack knowledge as well as proper understanding of this Act,” he argued.
Arlekar asserted that “there is absolutely no reason to panic or oppose this Act as it is not applicable for local people.”
He alleged that efforts are being made by unknown miscreants to spread wrong message about CAA among people and mislead them.
Jayant Jadhav, an organiser of the rally, informed that they have obtained all the permissions for the rally. “Police as well as some volunteers will manage the parking, cleanliness and other issues during rally,” he said.
