The aggrieved father Chandra Bhushan, a senior police officer at Mantralaya security in Ranchi has also demanded that the case be transferred to the Crime Branch alleging that the Porvorim police had made every attempt to hush-up the case in favour of the alleged accused.
Currently in Goa to pursue the matter with Goa government along with his lawyer Amit Palekar, Bhushan made a slew of charges against the Goa police accusing them of ignoring evidence such as shoes, CCTV and phone call details of the victim and wooden club (danda) with which Kumar was allegedly assaulted by the club’s bouncers and manager,.
“The evidence I have collected from the crime spot and other places, does not support the theory of accidental death or death due to negligence,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
“It shows a clear cut case of murder which is sought to be hushed up by a deliberate improper investigation, concoction and suppression…with the ulterior motive of protecting the owners and staff of the LPK Club,” reads the legal notice sent to the police with a copy to chief minister, State and National Human Rights Commissions.
According to the case papers, Kumar was allegedly beaten with wooden club, fist and blows by the accused that resulted in his death due to grievous head injuries. Bhushan demanded that the case be transferred to Crime Branch within 30 days failing which he will slap legal proceedings against the police.
