PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday asked the South Goa Collector to revoke permission of an ambulance belonging to an institution after a video carrying goods in the ambulance went viral.
People were alarmed how an ambulance which is meant to ferry patients in critical condition has been misused to ferry goods and that too by Central government employees. People reacted to such a careless state of affairs by Central government employees saying its shocking and a shame.
Rane tweeted, “I have written to the South Goa Collectorate to revoke permission of the ambulance at the earliest.”
Meanwhile, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted that he has asked the South Goa District Collector to revoke the permission of the said ambulance at the earliest, since it was issued for non-medical purpose.
He clarified that the ambulance was not registered with the Directorate of Health Services but with the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Canacona, and that the permission for it was issued by the South Goa Collectorate, Margao.
