Rane launches tirade against ngo for mining closure

Former CM Pratapsingh Rane launched a scathing attack on the petitioner, whose petition in the Supreme Court led to the closure of the mining sector, which provides direct livelihood to nearly 40,000 people in Goa.
The Congress MLA demanded that people, who are against the welfare of the State and its people, should be externed from Goa.
Speaking on the cut motion moved to the Demand of Mines, Rane demanded that the govt take stern action against such people, who play with the lives and livelihood of poor, for their personal gain and satisfaction.
He said some unemployed people go to Court without applying their mind and get a stay on the business. “I don’t know who funds these people…from where do they get money. The government needs to take action against such people,” he said attacking the petitioner.
“These so called people have destroyed the State economy and the livelihood of the people. Such people are dangerous for the State and should not be welcomed,” he said.
“They are not bothered about State or people. Such people have no right to stay in Goa. Government should extern them,” Rane demanded. He also questioned if the govt has identified measures to restart the sector.  Earlier on, while speaking during the Demand of Forest, the Poriem MLA demanded that the govt comes out with a dedicated Forest Policy for the State, with a thrust on promoting plantation of produce bearing trees.
