PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar on Saturday alleged that the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane is indulging in vindictive politics against the Opposition.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress House, here, Patkar said that if there were irregularities and violations in the preparation of Outline Development Plans (ODPs) then the government should file an FIR against the TCP officials, who prepared and signed these ODPs.
“If the ODPs are incorrect as alleged by Rane then why an FIR not been filed against the TCP officials, who prepared these plans? Are you trying to say that the then TCP Minister Babu Kavalekar had done corruption? Patkar asked demanding that Rane should come clear on it.
Patkar also wanted to know whether the ODPs of Taleigao, Mapusa and Kadamba Plateau are free of irregularities.
Alleging that Rane was targeting Leader of the Opposition Michael Lobo, Patkar demanded to know why no suo motu cases have been filed against those involved in Vagheri Hill cutting and against the illegal bungalow built within the precincts of world heritage site at Old Goa.
The Congress president further said that the TCP Minister should stop using unethical, undemocratic and arrogant language against elected representatives.
“Rane is suffering from short term memory loss if he does not know Michael Lobo,” Patkar said urging Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to intervene in the matter.
Meanwhile, the Congress will hold a protest on June 13, to oppose BJP government’s alleged vindictive politics against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and MP Rahul Gandhi with the help of Central agency Enforcement Directorate.
