Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, however refusing to give any specific reason, said that the survey will be presented during the next session (Monsoon Session), when the State Budget would be discussed in detail.
Just before Chief Minister could table his State Budget 2016-17, Rane raised the question on the Floor of the House wanting to know the intention behind giving a miss to tabling of the report. “It has always been a tradition that the Economic Survey report is tabled before the Budget is placed. It helps us to know the financial position of the State. But it has not happened,” he said. “I want to know the reason for not following this tradition,” the former chief minister questioned.
Replying to the same, Parsekar said that the “tradition” has been introduced for the last few years. “Since this time there will be a discussion on Vote of Accounts, I thought we’d table the Economic Survey report next session, when the entire Budget would be discussed,” he added.
