Rane welcomes idea of separate cell for urban planning

PANJIM: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane has appreciate the Indian Institute of Architects (IIAs) suggestion to create a separate cell in the TCP for urban planning in order to enhance the quality of urban setting in the State.

Rane held a meeting with the officials of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI), Institute of Engineers, Indian Institute of Architects and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in the presence of Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik and discussed issues pertaining to the TCP and Planning and Development Authorities (PDAs).

“We discussed several aspects of city planning, ways to create transparency in the TCP department and the possibility of bringing consultants to devise an expansion plan that is in keeping with Goa’s uniqueness. We will be putting some rules and regulations in place to simplify procedures, resolve parking issues, and so on,” Rane said.

The Minister said that the team will also work on finding a midway between the demand and supply so that both, the industry and the general public are satisfied with the changing guidelines of the TCP department.
