Rape accused dies in court

PANJIM: Mohammed Abdul Khan, owner of Moonlight Circus, accused of raping a minor died of a heart attack in the children’s court on Tuesday, police said.

PANJIM: Mohammed Abdul Khan, owner of Moonlight Circus, accused of raping a minor died of a heart attack in the children’s court on Tuesday, police said.
According to Panjim PI Siddhant Shirodkar the escort police informed Panjim police station that Khan was chargesheeted in the Children’s Court.
“Around 4.30 to 5 pm the accused went to the washroom and suddenly collapsed there and later medical investigations revealed it was a heart attack,” Shirodkar said.
Shirodkar said, since it is a custodial death an inquiry will be conducted by the Deputy Collector.
Khan was arrested by Margao police in a raid on the circus at Margao in March 2014 following a complaint that a minor girl working there had been raped.
