ANJUNA: The Mapusa JMFC Court on Friday remanded Prathamesh Uday Naik to five days police custody in an alleged rape case.
The 26-year-old Naik, resident of Assagao, was arrested in an alleged rape of 22 years old lady from Assagao.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday midnight, the alleged accused person had entered the house of the victim and raped her while she was asleep along with her children and further threatened to kill her.
Followingly, the victim filed a police complaint at Anjuna Police Station and a case was registered under Section 376 and 506(ii) of Indian Penal Court. Acting on the complaint, the Anjuna Police managed to nab the accused person on Thursday.
The police informed that the accused person entered the house of the victim by removing window grill and was randomly keeping a track on the victim girl’s movements before committing the crime. The police also informed that the victim and the accused did not know each other.
