Replying to a cut motion moved by the Opposition on the Department of Women and Child Development, Minister Dilip Parulekar said that process has already begun.
“We want to set up Nirbhaya centres next to both the district hospitals so that the medical help can also be provided immediately. The buildings will be equipped with an ambulance, staff and legal advisor. It will also have helpline number, the minister said.
The UPA- II’s proposal for setting up the crisis centres was carried forward by the present ruling with Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi assuring to complete the project by December.
