Giving a fresh turn to the tale, the 17-year-old girl who was gang raped between Monday night and Tuesday morning, today claimed that it was not three but two youths who have been involved in the crime.
According to the complaint, the girl yesterday had claimed that the youth had taken her to Mapusa and then Porvorim where she was gang raped by them in a house
However, when the fresh statement was recorded in presence of an NGO, she confirmed only two names.
The police have also arrested the second accuse in the case, who is learnt to be a minor.
The Panjim police had already arrested Santosh Kanakonkar yesterday, who has been sent to seven days police remand.
The second accused, who was arrested today, has been sent to Apna Ghar since he is a minor.
The girl went missing on February 2 and a missing report was filed the same day at the Town Police Station, here.
On February 3 there was a call from Porvorim stating the girl was found there.
