PANJIM, FEB 5
The Home Minister Ravi Naik today came under fire following complaints from colleagues in the ruling faction of increasing dadagiri and ineffectiveness of the law and order machinery to curb the same.
The two complainants were Transport minister Sudin Dhavalikar and Calanguta MLA Agnel Fernandes who raised the issue during zero hour on Thursday.
While Fernandes was defending himself over the allegation of his involvement in an assault case reported today, he claimed that the assaulted person, a panch form Reis Magos along with others have been allegedly causing nuisance in his constituency.
He alleged that the group has been involved in extortion, flesh trade and goondagiri which has resulted in their assault. According to Fernandes the gang has also been allegedly using the name of Home minister in a bid to assert pressure on the police not to act on complaints against them. So also did Sudin Dhavalikar take a dig at Ravi Naik that police are not serious over law and order issues ad complained that poor cognisance was taken of a case reported by him.
