PANJIM: The government has modified its anti-inflation scheme to supply subsidized vegetables, pulses and grain to Goan consumers at Horticulture Corporation outlets, on production of a ration card.
The amended “Government Intervention for Control of Price Rise” scheme will enable people to avail of two kgs of a predetermined list of vegetables, pulses and grain at a subsidized rate from GSHC stalls.
According to the schemes, residents of Goa can buy the following items each month per card — 2 kgs of tur dal, white peas (vatana) green grams (moong), sugar and four kgs of atta. They will also be eligible to buy two kilos bhendi (lady finger), cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cluster beans, French beans, green chillies, onions, potatoes and tomato.
“Commodities shall be supplied to Goan residents on production of ration cards at the specified outlets of Goa State Horticultural Corporation Ltd, as well as at other outlets of Societies or Federation (Agencies) as notified by the Government from time to time,” the notification reads.
