Ravindra Bhavan canteen issue likely to be resolved soon

MARGAO: Tiatr lovers and people visiting the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, including a large number of artists will soon see their issue is resolved as huge response has been received to run the canteen over here. 

A total number of 10 Self-Help Groups have shown their interest in running the canteen facilities at Ravindra Bhavan. 

Member Secretary Agnelo Fernandes says that the, tender will be opened on August 2 and one among the 10 Self Help Group will be finalized to start the canteen at the earliest. 

Few days before Ravindra Bhavan, Margao had issued tender notice for the canteen, taking into consideration the demands from the audience and artists, wherein hardships were faced in absence of the facility. 

It is pertinent to note that audiences and artists were facing difficulties in absence of the canteen facility at RBM for a very long period of time.  

We will shortly finalize the one to run the canteen activities. Tender will be opened on August 2 by following the due procedure, said Member Secretary. 

Meanwhile, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao has also taken serious note of the poor sound system in the main auditorium and requested the Directorate of Art and Culture to upgrade the same, especially in the Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes auditorium. 

Artists and audiences have been regularly complaining and expressing their disappointment due to the poor sound quality which has not been upgraded for a very long period of time. 

Member Secretary is on record that in order to attain the goal of providing better services to the artists, audience and other stakeholders, it is requested the concerned department to inspect the existing sound system with experts in the field and consider for its upgradation.
