MARGAO: Taking serious note of the harships faced by the audience and artists, a tender notice for the canteen has been issued by the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao (RBM).
The RBM on Friday also wrote a letter to the Directorate of Art and Culture for upgradation of the sound system.
It is pertinent to note that audience and artists were facing difficulties in absence of the canteen facility at RBM for a very long period of time.
Agnelo Fernandes, Member Secretary, RBM, has resolved in the first Ravindra Bhavan Council meeting that the tender notice for the canteen has already been forwarded for publication.
“Toilet replacement and repair work has already started from Friday,” he further informed.
In the letter sent to the Directorate of Art and Culture regarding upgradation of sound system in the main auditorium it has been stated that the artists, audience and public often complain about the overall quality of sound system at RBM especially in the Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes auditorium.
“The poor sound quality not only disappoints the public but also tarnishes the reputation of this RBM and thereby of the Directorate of Art and Culture. Similarly, attention is also invited to the fact that the RBM has become a main centre of cultural activities for the entire South Goa district and we are bound to provide the better facilities as expected,” stated Fernandes.
He said that to inorder to attain the goal of providing better services to the artists, audience and other stakeholders, it is requested to inspect the existing sound system with experts in the field and consider for its upgradation with the latest sound system technology on top priority.
