MARGAO: Ravindra Bhavan’s non-functional canteen and other issues will be resolved at the earliest, stated Member Secretary Agnelo Fernandes.
He has acknowledged that there are many complaints from the tiatrists and audiences pertaining to the pathetic conditions of the Ravindra Bhavan in Margao.
Speaking to Herald, Fernandes said that the self-help group will be given preference to run the canteen facility.
“It has been brought to my notice that there is no proper canteen facility over here for the last few years. There are also problems with regard to the Sound system in the main auditorium”, he stated.
He further said “We are taking care of today’s maintenance, but the major work needs approval and funding from the government side. I have already got feedback from my staff over here and will see to it that everything is resolved.”
He informed that they will need to seek the approval of the government to upgrade the sound system of the auditorium.
“Being the main venue for South Goa we are planning to upgrade the Ravindra Bhavan very soon”, Fernandes stated.
A list of works to be done on a priority basis has been prepared which includes repairing the rooftop and maintenance on a priority basis, setting up solar panels, undertaking repair and maintenance of sound system, AC leakage, to make the canteen functional immediately by bringing self-help groups on board.
