SSC and HSSC students applying for re-verification of their answer sheets will now be able to get the same re-corrected and that too by a different examiner.
The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is in the process of setting up a framework under which the re-correction of papers will be carried out in line with a similar re-assessment scheme followed by the Goa University.
Speaking to Herald, Goa Board Secretary D R Bhagat said they were framing the norms under which the re-assessment or re-correction will be done. “Many a time a student feels the marks in a particular subject are not as expected. Earlier, only re-verification was done to satisfy him, but in re-correction there is a possibility the student may have even scored more or less,” he stated.
Earlier, Education Minister Babush Monserrate had favoured the reassessment of papers and the proposal was under consideration. The re-verification only allowed for recounting of marks, unlike reassessment which will mean the students will be allotted marks afresh.
