Ready for snap poll, but don’t want to burden Goans: Cong

MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar clarified that his party is prepared for a snap poll but opposed it only because there was no need to burden Goans with another elections as the Congress was elected to power at the last elections.
Briefing media persons, he said that if there are snap polls, the Congress is not only prepared but confident of winning 25 seats, while the BJP would not even cross five seats. “Even in Shiroda and Mandrem, where by-elections will be held, our campaign will be on why the elections are foisted on the people,” he added.
Referring to Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, he said that even BJP rank and file has now started talking about the miss-governance that the Congress used to speak about earlier.
