PANJIM: Deputy Speaker and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Monday said he is ready to give up his post but said he will continue to work for the people even without power. Reacting to the recent demands made by alliance partners demanding specific portfolios, he said, “The direction should not change, all of them are just thinking about themselves. Everyday each political party brings one or the other news on the front page of newspapers demanding that they want this particular portfolio or some other portfolio, but what about our fellow Goans? There needs to be a thought on this.”
He added, “Goans are just left like that. Today it has been eight months since this coalition government came to power and they are just asking for this and that. I am not naming any party or MLA. It looks as if they have just come to power only to demand for a portfolio or any other thing,” Lobo added. He said that anyone (MLA or Party) who wants his posts may take it, but he shall still work for the betterment of the people of Goa even without power.
