Ready to sit with GFP chief to solve Sonsoddo issue: Minister

PANJIM: Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo on Wednesday has accepted MLA Vijai Sardesai’s offer to sit for a drink to solve Sonsoddo issue.
Speaking to reporters, after the Cabinet meeting, Lobo said that it was a good gesture from the Goa Forward president.
“I don’t drink everyday, but for the sake of Sonsoddo, I am ready to sit with Sardesai for a drink,” Lobo told reporters.
Lobo said that Sardesai was upset with him over some issue and now since he has shown the gesture he was happy.
“I don’t mind going for a drink to his place in Margao or anywhere. I do not have personal enmity with anybody. We may have political issues but nothing personal. Having said that, the Sonsoddo issue is of utmost importance and has to be solved immediately,” he said.
Stating that the waste lying for decades has to be cleared, the minister said, “If Vijai is giving us a helping hand then it would help immensely in solving Sonsoddo issue.”
The minister said he had already spoken to Vijai on this and he has also agreed that Sonsoddo has to be solved.
On the people’s protest in Sonsoddo, he said, “The people have to understand it is not the problem of my constituency.”
“I have already solved the problems of my constituency. Now I am here to solve State’s problem,” he stated.
