PANJIM: Thirty-five-year-old real estate developer and a garage owner Hassan was found murdered in his Honda City car, near the Bambolim Cross Friday morning, officers said.
The body was found with stab wounds and belongings of the victim including his cell phone were robbed. However, though initial pointers are towards robbery as a motive, police sources say that business rivalry or even a contract killing cannot be ruled out given that the deceased was involved in property dealings and even had a construction project in North Goa.
According to initial investigations, two persons approached him at his garage at Taleigao on the pretext of wanting to buy the Honda City in which he was found murdered. After they checked the car documents including the RC book, they asked to go for a test drive. This was around 8.30 pm Thursday.
Friday morning, his family came to know that his body was found in the car. Police have booked a case of murder (under Section 302 IPC read with 34 and section 397) against unknown persons.
“We found a person with stab wounds in a Honda City car,” PI S Vaingankar confirmed, stating that investigations are on to explore all angles.
A complaint was registered with the Agassaim Police Station by his brother Hyder, from Band, Taleigao that between 8.30 pm of March 21 and 12.30 am of March 22, two persons of wheatish complexion, thin, aged about 30 to 40 yrs, around 5.8 feet tall, murdered his brother Hassan with a sharp object, robbing him of his gold chain, weighing approximately 25 grams, a dual SIM touch screen cellphone and wallet, all worth Rs 35,000.
The body was found on the rear seat of the car.
