PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that a letter recommending the candidate for Lokayukta had been sent to the High Court. Speaking about the selection process, he said that he had made an open announcement asking any body to suggest names and stated “I have not received a single name.” He also said that he had spoken to the Leader of Opposition.
“I have personally spoken to Leader of Opposition, who has agreed verbally,” Parrikar said, adding, “Once the High Court concurs then it will be finalised. What I said is that I have selected the Lokayukta’s name. He will be appointed by the Governor. I have followed the law.”
