Recording life and death can be tedious

The department in the South has not been functioning properly making people feel very frustrated

MARGAO: Curtorim MLA Alex Reginaldo Lourenco plans to confront the government on the functioning of department overlooking birth and death records, after he met the aggrieved people at the Civil Registrar office in Margao.
Reginaldo has expressed surprise over the delay in providing the records to the people, alleging that the problem of partly or non-functioning of the Birth and Death records section at the civil registrar office in Margao District Collectorate has been ongoing for a while. 
On Tuesday the Curtotim MLA visited the office and spoke to the people regarding their problems while getting the records desired records. Reginaldo said he had written a letter to the Chief Minister complaining about the problems  faced and got a reply saying they would solve the matter. Reginaldo said the matter was still pending and now he had filed assembly question where he plans to demand an answer from the government.
Some people at the section complained they were given dates three months after the application was given. The people pleaded with the government to look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest. Reginaldo said a similar problem was faced by people in Panjim too.
