Recruitment in all govt depts to come under one roof

PANJIM: The State Cabinet on
Friday gave its stamp of approval for the constitution of the Staff Selection
Board, which will bring recruitment of all departments under one roof.

Speaking to media persons after
the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the government will
now submit the Bill in the ongoing Assembly session.

“The cabinet today approved the
constitution of Staff Selection Board of C & D category. Henceforth the
candidates will not have to answer a number of exams for one position,” he
said.

He stated that the Staff Selection
Board will conduct an exam and announce the list. “The list will be valid for a
year and as and when vacancies are created in different department the HoDs
will inform the Board which will give recommendations as per the merit list,”
he said.

This, he said will bring in a transparency
of sorts in the recruitment process. “Many people allege it is being rigged and
hence it was the need of the hour to bring in transparency,” he said.
