The Health ministry has recruited around 37 nurses on regular basis in dental college against the vacant posts.
However, shockingly despite conducting interviews and exams there are no results announced and directly appointment letters have been issued to the “nominated” candidates of the health minister and the other cabinet colleagues.
A few candidates who answered exams told Herald that as they were waiting for the results to be announced they realised 37 nurses have already joined duties without announcement of results.
“We have realised that most of the candidates are from Sattari taluka,” they said.
Information available with Herald reveals that at least 17 candidates out of 37 are from Sattari itself, besides others from Bicholim and other areas. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane is the MLA from Valpoi constituency in Sattari.
“How can appointment letters be issued before declaration of results. How candidates of only Sattari can get preference?” they asked.
Another shocking point is that all the BSc nursing candidates, working in the GMC on contract have been systematically ignored.
“No BSc Nursing candidates already working on contract have been considered for regularisation,” they said.
The candidates questioned if the government had already decided whom to nominate for the posts why did they create all the drama.
“Why were we made to stand in queues and answer exams. They should have directly called out names of candidates from their constituency. Why the whole drama? they asked.
The RTI replies by the dental college further says that they do not have any information on how many contract nurses have applied for the posts.
When questioned Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that all rules and regulations have been followed by his department in recruitment.
“The results have been announced and candidates given appointment letters based on results,” Rane told Herald.
Asked about the BSC nursing candidates, working on contracts, Rane said that he cannot assure them regularisation.
“I cannot go and answer exam for them. They have to answer exams and pass to be appointed on regular basis. I know they have been working in GMC for many years but we have to also follow rules. We cannot directly give them regularisation just because they are working with GMC,” Rane said.
