PERNEM: Redkar Hospital completed the first phase of COVAXIN trial after a team of doctors administered COVID vaccine to 32 potential volunteers.
Dr Dhananjay Lad said, “We have completed the first phase of COVID vaccine trial where in 32 vaccines have been administered to potential volunteers”.
He said, “Since the vaccine trial in the first phase was smooth, we are now enrolling for second phase where any healthy person can get enrolled. The same process of screening and other procedures will be followed in the second phase too”.
“In the second phase, vaccines will be administered to 100 healthy volunteers. The target of vaccines in the second phase is 100, but since this is a competitive recruitment, based on performance and if the process fastens, we can vaccinate 50 more in the second phase”, Dr Lad informed.
