SANGUEM: South Goa Congress candidate Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco assured all support and all-round development of Sanguem constituency, if he is elected in the parliamentary elections.
Lourenco was speaking at a public meeting organised by Sanguem Congress Block at Sanguem bus stand late Tuesday evening. The meeting was attended by GPCC President John Fernandes, Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardessai, Guirish Chodankar, Prasad Gaonkar, Prashant Naik, Tara Kerkar, Joaquim V D’Costa, Dr Revansiddh Naik, Shyam Satardekar and others.
Speaking further, Lourenco said, “Whatever work I have done in my constituency as an MLA will be undertaken in Sanguem constituency if I am elected as MP,” said Lourenco, while urging the people to come out in large numbers on April 12 and vote for the Congress.
Lourenco also assured to give a patient hearing and find solution to the problems faced by the people on the development front.
Taking a dig at the local MLA for creating a fear in the minds of voters in Sanguem constituency, Sardessai said: “Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai is frustrated given the increasing number of people rallying behind the Congress. We live in a democratic country and we have every right to vote for the people of our choice.”
Sardessai appealed the people to protect Goan identity which is on the verge of losing its fabric of peace and unity due to the dictatorship rule of Parrikar government.
Complimenting the large crowd gathered for the meeting at a very short notice, Sardessai urged the people in Sanguem to come out in large numbers on April 12 and teach BJP a lesson by giving Congress a clear majority in Sanguem constituency.
The meeting was compered by Dr Revansiddh Naik, while meeting convenor Joaquim D’Costa proposed the vote of thanks.
