MARGAO:  As a storm is brewing in Curtorim over the controversial 85 room hotel project, local MLA Reginaldo Lourenco on Wednesday said he would meet the villagers and find out the nature of their objections to the project.
“I am schedule to meet a delegation of the villagers opposing the hotel project. Only after my meeting, I will be able to outline my stand vis-à-vis the project and the objections lodged by the people”, Reginaldo told Herald on Wednesday.
The Curtorim MLA said he is aware of the objections raised by the villagers to the hotel project and demands to get the project scrapped.
Opponents of the hotel project have said they will raise the issue at the Sunday gram sabha to revoke the permissions granted by the Panchayat body.
They contended that the Panchayat body had failed to place the project file before the gram sabha as per a resolution adopted by the gram sabha not to pass any mega project before it receives the nod of the gram sabha.
