PANJIM: In an effort to regulate minor mineral transportation, owners of all vehicles, used for the purpose of importing such minerals from other States to Goa, have been directed to register their vehicles with the Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) for obtaining transit permits.
DMG director Suresh Shanbogue on Monday issued a circular announcing the online issuance of transit permits for the import of minor minerals into the State from Tuesday, September 27 onwards.
“The present manual system of issuing permits at the check posts will continue simultaneously until October 2”, he said.
“As per Rule 47 of the Goa Minor Minerals Concession Rules 1985, a valid permit is required to be obtained from the DMG to bring minor minerals to Goa from other states. System for the issue of an online permit will go live from 27-9-2022 for which applicant need to visit the official website of this Directorate (https://dmg.gou.gov.in),” the circular by the Director stated.
