Saligao: For Saligao Congress candidate Kedar Naik, solving issues of irregular water supply and service road are his top priorities if he gets elected.

“Saligao comprises six village panchayats (VP) in total, most of which are situated on river bank. Being a Sarpanch of Reis Magos, I am well aware of the issues. So far I was working towards development of my village. Being a voter of very own constituency, I now intend to work towards the development of my constituency,” Naik said.

“During my door-to-door campaign, I cover around 300 to 400 households per day. Almost all the households are covered. A few which are left will be covered in a day or two,” he said.

“My roadmap towards development of this constituency includes learning about the ground level problems faced by people of every village panchayat and work towards providing the solution. Construction of retaining wall, bringing in of new projects are some of the issues I am going to work upon soon after I am voted to power,” the Saligao Congress candidate said.

Kedar Naik who had left BJP upon induction of former Goa Forward party member and Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar into the BJP party and had joined Congress, said, “BJP is not the same old party of ‘karyakartas’ like how it was when late Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar was in power. Once after his demise, only two-three people are ruling the BJP party, Goa and Goans which is not acceptable.”

He sees a bright future in Congress and is sure the party will form the next government.

Happy over the response received from the people of his constituency during door-to-door campaign, Naik said that he is 100 per cent confident of defeating BJP candidate, Jayesh Salgaonkar.

“People aren’t just upset, but are frustrated with the dictatorship of BJP government. Congress will win the Saligao seat with flying colours and with a huge margin,” claimed Naik.

“As an educated, young and a new face, I would like to appeal Goans and the voters of Saligao constituency to vote wisely. The other political parties have entered the State politics just to divide the votes on religious basis. Voting the parties like the Aam Admi Party (AAP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party will only divide the votes. This will eventually benefit the BJP come back to power,” the Congress candidate said.

“Let the storm to rule BJP out from Goan politics not die down. I request the voters to vote wisely and in united manner without falling prey to divide and rule strategy of other political parties,” added Naik.
