PONDA: About 1,400 members of the PWD Labour Supply Society Employees Union have demanded regularisation of their services by June 17, failing which they threatened to stage ‘dharna’.The decision was taken during the general body meeting of the Society at Ponda on Sunday.
Speaking at the meeting, Society President Shantesh Naik said the society of the labourers was formed in 2003 by the then MGP-BJP government.
“Then PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar had formed the society so that labourers are not exploited by the labour contractors said Naik.
