PONDA: The members of dissolved Ponda Block Congress Committee on Wednesday met party’s Goa desk in charge Dinesh Gundu Rao and demanded that the panel be reinstated.
During their meeting with Rao, they criticised Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar for dissolving the committee without issuing a show cause notice.
Arun Gudekar said Rao has assured to look into the matter by holding discussion with them by appointing a neutral observer.
It may be recalled that two days ago the GPCC dissolved the Ponda Block Congress Committee under leadership of Arun Gudekar before completing its term.
Addressing media persons, Gudekar said the dissolved committee members have been loyal to the party for past 30 years. They were not taken into confidence before dissolving of the panel.
The party workers said they are shocked over Chodankar’s decision. If Girish wants to reconstitute the panel then the loyal party workers should be included in it.
Gudekar demanded that the party leadership reinstate the dissolved committee and retain him as the president.
